Exterior cleaning in Dublin

Most of Dublin's older housing was built close together, with small front gardens, shared walls and narrow side passages. That means less sun on paths and walls, and more green growth in the shaded corners.

Traffic is the other big factor. Houses on main roads and bus routes pick up a grey film on windows, sills and render much faster than houses on quiet roads. Period houses with tall facades and high gutters are the jobs most owners cannot do themselves.

Newer apartment blocks and estates on the edge of the city, around Swords, Blanchardstown and Lucan, are a different job: more glass, block-paved driveways and gutters on modern concrete tile roofs. Coastal areas like Malahide and Dún Laoghaire also pick up salt on windows.
